Our take on The Mansion
The bounce point comes when the mansion’s identity becomes uncertain: it may be real, remembered, borrowed from fiction, or assembled by a nightmare. Players who need the setting explained plainly may stop there, before Alvin’s past is fully explored.
What is The Mansion?
A small-town doctor carries an unconscious boy into the office after the stranger collapses at the door.
Looking into the boy’s eyes draws the doctor into a dream centered on a mansion that may never have existed. Its form may come from real memories, stories, films, postcards, or imagined fragments. The doctor stands before the building and cannot leave until the boy’s fears and painful memories have been faced. The experience follows this journey into the nightmare and its uncertain history. Creatures from the boy’s dreams appear strangely real and are capable of harming the doctor. The mystery also asks what lies in Alvin’s past and how the mansion came to occupy the center of his dream.
How The Mansion plays
