Our take on The List
The emphasis on different routes and conclusions may suggest a broad branching mystery, but the described activity remains centered on one case, its interviews, and police-database searches. The experience is primarily an investigative desktop workflow rather than an action-oriented adventure.
What is The List?
The List is a non-linear detective adventure about the murder of Jordan Grady.
Three years after Grady was questioned by police and later killed, a special agent from Santa Fe reopens the case. The investigation centers on interviews recorded after Grady survived an attack at a bus station and found a list containing his name. Players examine those conversations, search a police database for relevant terms, and use the WCPD desktop to review case files, email, notes, and possible discrepancies. The questions asked and words searched shape how the investigation reaches its conclusion, giving different players different routes through the case.
How The List plays
- 01Database Investigation
- Search interview material by keywords to connect statements and investigate the circumstances surrounding Grady's death.
- 02Branching Investigation
- The questions asked and search terms used determine the route taken toward the case's conclusion.
- 03Police Desktop Tools
- The investigation includes case interviews, a crime-tagging database, email, notes, and a case folder for reviewing clues.
