- Players who prefer choosing between fast progression and exploration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely linear platformer without role-playing systems, summons, or mana management
- Players wanting a narrowly focused combat game rather than a mix of platforming, exploration, story, and RPG mechanics
- Players looking for a fully implemented set of every announced feature, since some listed additions are planned or unfinished
Our take on The Intern
The store copy gives substantial space to planned additions, including achievements, collectible cards, and travel across times and dimensions. Several of these are marked as unfinished, so the current offering is better represented by its platforming, mana, masks, summons, and available progression elements.
What is The Intern?
The Intern is a platform-action game with RPG and anime elements.
It follows an aspiring creative worker who enters another dimension after receiving a strange message and experiencing an accident. Her task is to find three masks linked to the elements of creation and pursue a divine internship. Platforming and metroidvania-style mechanics combine with role-playing elements, summons, skills, and a mana system. Stored mana affects the player's power and capacity, while masks provide different mana types and special attacks.
Summon combinations and abilities offer different ways to approach challenges, with side effects attached. Summons can also be evolved to gain additional forms and special attacks. The game supports fast progression or exploration, and includes a ready mini-game, leveling elements, and virtual immortality.
How The Intern plays

- 05Exploration Choice

- 06Ready Progression Elements
