Is Terafall: Survival worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Open-world RPG players who want procedurally generated exploration and non-linear progression
- Solo survival players who want crafting, base building, and resource management
- Players who want several play modes, including a survival mode with food, drink, and sleep needs
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly directed campaign may find the non-linear sandbox structure too diffuse.
- Players who dislike repeated exploration and variable world layouts may tire of procedurally generated playthroughs.
- Players looking for multiplayer, drivable vehicles, pets, or recruitable NPCs will not find those planned features implemented in the current feature list.
Our take on Terafall: Survival
Players may bounce off the survival mode when eating, drinking, and sleeping become ongoing requirements. The large generated world and non-linear structure can also make progression feel diffuse for anyone expecting a tightly directed sequence of missions.
What is Terafall: Survival?
Terafall: Survival is a single-player, procedurally generated open-world sandbox RPG set on a planet explored to support Tera, a world facing extinction.
Players create a character from six races, explore seven biomes, discover generated points of interest and dungeons, and encounter more than 40 wildlife and alien creatures. Progression includes perks, equipment, weapon upgrades, stealth attacks, cooking, trading, and crafting. Players can build a base, manage resources, and face changing weather, day and night cycles, and time-based needs. Three modes are available: standard, peaceful, and survival, with the last requiring eating, drinking, and sleeping. Rare biome-specific bosses and airborne vehicles add further encounters.
How Terafall: Survival plays
- 01Generated Open World
- World seeds create different areas, biomes, dungeons, and points of interest across approximately 300,000 one-kilometer-square areas.
- 02Character Progression
- Experience from discovering locations and defeating enemies can be spent on perks that improve character abilities.
- 03Crafting And Trading
- Resources support the creation of items, tools, gear, weapons, and dishes, while vendors allow goods to be bought and sold.
- 04Base Construction
- Gathered resources can be used to place a base, structures, and resource generators anywhere in the world.
- 05Three Game Modes
- Standard, peaceful, and survival modes vary enemy behavior and whether eating, drinking, and sleeping are required.
- 06Dynamic World Systems
- Weather events, day and night, passing time, and sleep affect the world and its exploration.
- 07Weapon Customization
- Weapons can be upgraded in rank, augmented with extra effects, and renamed.
Terafall: Survival compared to similar games
Terafall: Survival combines a procedurally generated open world, character progression, multiple survival systems, base building, and trading. Force of Nature also covers action, adventure, RPG, strategy, management, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and weapons, but its description emphasizes more than 10 distinct zones rather than Terafall's generated world structure. Mr. Prepper focuses on building an underground shelter, crafting, preparation, and dealing with an authoritarian government in a nuclear-war setting.
