Our take on The Hateful Dead
The wave-survival format keeps the focus on repeated fights, but it trades away the broader progression and varied activities found in games built around exploration or a campaign.
What is The Hateful Dead?
The Hateful Dead is a wave-based first-person shooter about facing successive groups of undead alone.
Players run and shoot while wielding a primary weapon and one of three secondary weapons, including a chainsaw and minigun. More than 30 guns are available, and weapons can be upgraded with added effects. Weapons can be obtained from wall drawings or a box that provides a random gun. Enemies drop power-ups, including effects that slow time or replenish ammunition, and players can use potions and the Incremate power. Survival takes place across three maps in a voxel-style setting with graphic combat.
