Our take on The Forest Quartet
Its defining structure is a spirit’s journey through three separate acts, each built around one band member’s psyche. Progress comes through discovering abilities such as singing, creating light, and transforming into butterflies, rather than through written instructions or conventional level objectives.
What is The Forest Quartet?
Play as the spirit of a departed lead singer across three acts, each focused on a different band member and their emotional struggles.
Solve environmental puzzles while confronting the corruption affecting their inner worlds. In one act, a spreading fungus has damaged a forest; in another, underground creatures surround a house; in the third, volcanic destruction creates fires and a maze of pipes. The spirit can sing to affect objects, produce light with her fingertips, glide, float, and become a swarm of butterflies. Environmental sounds contribute to the original jazz score. The game provides no written instructions, with new abilities emerging during exploration, and its short structure is intended for completion in one evening or shorter sessions.

The Forest Quartet compared to similar games
The Forest Quartet uses environmental puzzles, exploration, and transformation abilities across three character-focused acts, while Jusant centers on climbing a tall tower, managing stamina, and choosing routes upward. Jusant is structured around traversal and uncovering the history of a bygone civilization rather than restoring a band’s musical spark.
