Our take on The Fidelio Incident
The defining structure is a first-person search across a frozen Icelandic island, with Stanley pursuing his missing wife while concealing the couple’s violent past before rescue arrives.
What is The Fidelio Incident?
After a plane crash, Stanley crosses a frozen island near Iceland to find his wife, Leonore, while hiding the couple’s violent Irish history before rescuers arrive.
This solo thriller uses a first-person viewpoint and retells ideas from Beethoven’s sole opera, Fidelio, in a contemporary setting. Its narrative draws influence from Dear Esther, Gone Home, and Firewatch. More than 40 minutes of original score adapts material from Fidelio’s overture to suit the game’s mood. Act 3 Games produced and self-published the project, which was made with Unreal Engine 4.
