Our take on The Dungeon Vendor
The merchant-centered design trades direct heroism for preparation: weapon quality, material choices, and learned enemy information carry much of the progression, while the vendor remains behind the adventuring party.
What is The Dungeon Vendor?
Play as a traveling merchant who visits dungeons, meets heroes, gathers materials, and forges weapons for profit.
Weapon creation combines metals, leather, gems, and runes into thousands of possible results, while forging mini-games affect weapon quality. More than 70 heroes have individual backgrounds and motivations, and 20 dungeon locations contain distinct descriptions. Over 50 enemies have weaknesses that can be learned and recorded. Quests, boss trophies, and in-game and Steam achievements provide additional objectives. A journal stores discoveries about locations and enemies, allowing later runs to use previously gathered information. Weapons can receive custom names or randomly generated names, while the vendor and assistants' stories unfold during progression.
