Our take on The Butterfly Sign: Human Error
Jack stays in a hospital bed in the present; the gameplay unfolds in memories restored with Rammex.
What is The Butterfly Sign: Human Error?
The Butterfly Sign: Human Error is the second chapter of a first-person detective game.
Jack, the sole survivor of an attack on Memority hospital, uses the experimental drug Rammex to revisit his memories and investigate what happened. Gameplay takes place in those memories while Jack remains confined to a hospital bed in the present. Search for clues, examine murders, solve puzzles and reconstruct events. Some memories contain looping spaces that send Jack back into the same location, requiring a way out.
Dialogue and story choices vary with location, and decisions affect the ending. The episode also uses layered memories, where objects found in one memory may be used within it. Players can choose from several difficulty levels, including one where a single death restarts the game.
