Our take on The Bard's Tale Trilogy
The defining structure is the persistent party: characters created in the first game can travel through all three remastered volumes, linking separate dungeon-crawling adventures into one campaign.
What is The Bard's Tale Trilogy?
The Bard's Tale Trilogy brings together remastered editions of The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown, The Bard’s Tale II: The Destiny Knight, and The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate.
Form a group of adventurers in the opening game and carry that group through the trilogy. Across the stories, players free a city held by a wizard, restore the Destiny Wand, and journey through time and space to face a Mad God. The three titles share a consistent play experience and run without emulation or compatibility issues. An in-game manual and bestiary provide reference information.
Optional updates include automapping, access to spells, and revised equipment and inventory handling. Characters can be male or female in each game. Legacy Mode provides options for a more traditional style of play.

The Bard's Tale Trilogy compared to similar games
The Bard's Tale Trilogy remasters three dungeon-crawling RPGs around one party that continues across the series. Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition centers on an unconventional story, characters, and soundtrack, while Back to the Dawn focuses on prison survival, investigation, and escape. Tales of Symphonia presents an adventure about a chosen figure and two interconnected worlds rather than a three-volume party campaign.
