AdventureIs The Bad Kids worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Cat’s Cradle fans who want a game adaptation with new stories
- Adventure players who prefer investigations and puzzle solving over combat-focused play
- Players interested in dark stories about family relationships and adolescent fear
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking fast action may lose interest during clue gathering, logical reasoning, and story investigation
- Players who prefer open-ended or highly replayable structures may find the fixed 5-chapter narrative restrictive
- Players looking for a light or comedic adventure may bounce off the horror setting and bleak subject matter
Our take on The Bad Kids
The bounce point arrives when progress depends on piecing together scattered clues and applying logical reasoning rather than simply following the story. Players who want continuous action may hit that wall early, while the 5-chapter structure may also feel restrictive to anyone seeking a more open-ended adventure.
What is The Bad Kids?
This narrative adventure follows Zhu Chaoyang, a junior-high student facing a frightening nightmare shaped by family conflict, false friendship, and adult cruelty.
Players investigate mysteries, explore 3D environments, solve puzzles, reason through evidence, and interact with story scenes. Scattered clues and fragments support the search for hidden connections as the story moves toward a final confrontation with a murderous monster. The game presents new stories within the setting of the Cat’s Cradle television series and focuses on the character’s inner conflicts, fears, and struggles. Its structure is divided into 5 chapters: a preface, chapters about Zhu’s mother, father, and friends, and a final chapter.
