Our take on TERMINUS
Rather than building around combat, puzzles, or a long campaign, TERMINUS presents a short VR quest through five surreal realms. Its focus is atmospheric exploration and a shifting sense of reality, making it a departure from games structured around repeated challenges or measurable progression.
What is TERMINUS?
TERMINUS is a 30-minute VR exploration and choose-your-own-adventure journey through five realms depicted in Jess Johnson’s drawings.
The route moves through Fleshold Crossing, Known Unknown, Scumm Engine, the tower of Gog & Magog, and Tumblewych. These spaces feature alien architecture, humanoid clones, and cryptic symbols, with the journey shifting through unusual environments and sensory experiences. The work was brought to life by Simon Ward, developer Kenny Smith, and soundtracks by Andrew Clarke. Its quest leads toward a reflection on reality as something that can be multiple and changeable.
