Our take on Blortasia
The focus on atmospheric exploration comes at the cost of conventional game structure. Without objectives, puzzles, combat, or a narrative, the experience places its variety in changing scenery and movement rather than progression or challenge.
What is Blortasia?
Blortasia is a virtual reality art experience set in a skyborne world of abstract sculptures.
Movement centers on flying through a changing maze, with options to drift through a labyrinth, cross open areas, or remain in place. Pointing a controller sets the direction, while the trigger controls acceleration. One or two controllers can be used, with low, medium, and high speed settings plus analog triggers. A floating board provides spatial orientation during movement. The environment changes continuously, combining shape, color, motion, sound, and spatial presence with an abstract soundtrack. It does not use a narrative, objectives, puzzles, or conventional game challenges; its structure is an explorable art installation.
How Blortasia plays
- 01Flying Controls
- Direction, acceleration, controller count, speed settings, and analog triggers shape movement through the space.
- 02Changing Environment
- The sculptures and surrounding forms shift continuously during exploration.
- 03Spatial Reference Board
- A boogie-board-like platform gives the player a stable visual reference while moving.
- 04Abstract Soundtrack
- The audio combines older and newer sound-healing approaches with the visual environment.
