Our take on Tenebrous Dungeon
Its first-person shooting focus gives less room to the broader party-based tactics or role-playing systems found in some fantasy RPGs. Progression is tied to combat and scavenging, so players seeking a mainly narrative or social experience may find the loop narrow.
What is Tenebrous Dungeon?
A single-player first-person shooter set in a medieval fantasy kingdom, Tenebrous Dungeon sends the player into Tenebrous Keep to stop rebel lord Bartholomew Black.
The game spans over 20 dungeon, castle, and outdoor areas, with hidden locations containing treasure and weapons. Combat uses ranged, melee, and arcane weapons against enemy factions and bosses. Players can choose from 3 difficulty settings, break objects to find supplies, and salvage weapons for score and experience. Leveling grants skill-points for improving abilities, while stimulants provide temporary stat boosts that can have side-effects. Prisoners, objects, journals, and letters reveal the story and the Keep’s history. The game also supports Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers with rumble.
