Our take on TASUKEMONO
Rather than having the player move a character directly through a puzzle, the game makes the girl move automatically. The puzzle centers on setting animal companions’ actions, then advancing everyone one step at once, replacing a more immediate movement style with planned, synchronized turns.
What is TASUKEMONO?
Tasukemono is a turn-based puzzle game about a blind girl searching for her mother in a forest.
Players control animal characters, choosing their movement and skills to guide the girl toward each stage’s goal. The girl moves automatically, and an advance-time command makes the characters and girl take one step together. The game is divided into short stages, with new animal characters joining as the journey continues. Progress saves automatically at the start of each stage, and players can also save during puzzles or retry a stage. Hidden paper pieces unlock graphics in a gallery. The game includes pixel-art blood effects that can be switched off, replacing them with pop-style effects. The stated play time is 6–10 hours.
How TASUKEMONO plays
- 01Synchronized turns

- 02Stage saving
- Progress is saved at each stage’s start, with manual saving and retries available during puzzle play.
- 03Unlockable gallery
- Finding hidden paper pieces opens special graphics in a separate gallery mode.
- 04Adjustable blood effects
- An option replaces pixel-art blood effects with pop-style visuals.
