SimulationIs Tank Squad worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- World War II history enthusiasts who want tank-focused missions
- Co-op groups who want to operate vehicles together, including as crew members
- Players who enjoy managing vehicle repairs, ammunition, fuel, and squads between battles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad range of settings beyond World War II tank battles may find the historical focus narrow.
- Players looking for a purely fast-paced combat loop may find the repair, resupply, and squad-management duties interrupt the action.
- Players seeking a large-scale multiplayer game may not find the listed solo and four-player co-op modes sufficient.
Our take on Tank Squad
Tank combat games often center on vehicle control and battlefield encounters; Tank Squad also places maintenance and crew coordination between those engagements. Cooperative players can take separate tanks or share a vehicle, shifting some play from individual command to coordinated crew roles.
What is Tank Squad?
Tank Squad is a World War II tank combat game with single-player and cooperative campaigns for up to four players.
Campaign battles are separate missions with objectives, and players can plan tactics using infantry, artillery, or air support when available. Tanks can be damaged or lost, so crews can recover vehicles and repair them between battles, replenish ammunition, refuel, and manage squad members. Cooperative play supports either controlling a whole tank or joining another player's tank as a crew member. The game includes 2 campaigns and 38 missions, along with 23 vehicles and 16 static guns. Skirmish and procedural missions are also available for cooperative play, and vehicles can be customized with camouflage, numbers, and emblems.
How Tank Squad plays
- 01Tank maintenance
- Vehicles have repairable parts and modules, and players can handle the engine, fuel system, gearbox, tracks, and wheels.
- 02Crew-based co-op
- In multi-crew mode, players can join another player's vehicle and coordinate through tank radio.
- 03Vehicle customization
- Camouflage patterns, side numbers, and emblems can be changed on vehicles.
- 04Mission variety
- The 38 missions include campaign battles, skirmish scenarios, and procedural missions.
