Our take on Tales of Autumn
The RPG label gives limited emphasis to the farming and social structure that defines the described activities. Ranch restoration, terrain changes, animal care, relationships, fishing, and town events occupy the available overview, so genre alone does not convey the product’s main focus.
What is Tales of Autumn?
Restore an abandoned ranch by managing its land, raising livestock, and caring for wild creatures.
Altering the terrain creates different biomes, which affects the crops that can grow and the animals drawn to the property. Wild creatures and ranch animals can be befriended and tamed, with individual requirements for remaining at the ranch. Relationships with townsfolk develop through conversations and shared events, while the town responds to behaviour through gifts, discounts, assistance, or social distance. Traditional livestock can be kept in the coop and barn. Fishing includes a minigame and lures, and progress follows a calendar of town festivals plus events focused on particular characters and creatures.
