Our take on Été
The no-failure, no-time-limit structure removes pressure but also leaves little room for players who want demanding objectives or consequences. Its focus on painting, collecting, and arranging trades conventional action and RPG challenge for open-ended creative play.
What is Été?
Été is a relaxed painting game set during a summer in Montréal.
Players explore peaceful 3D city scenes, adding color with a paintbrush and discovering objects such as flowers and birds. These discoveries become stamps for an album, which can supply elements for 2D canvas compositions. Stamps may be moved, resized, recolored, and rotated. Local residents offer commissions, while unrestricted artworks can be displayed, auctioned at a café, or included in an exhibition. Furniture and other decorations can be arranged in the studio and apartment. Rare pigments found around the city provide additional dyes. Dozens of local characters, shops, and open-ended exploration support a no-failure structure without time limits or a required quest order.
