Our take on Amber Isle
The island-restoration framing gives the game a broader adventure feel, but its central activity is operating the island’s only shop. Restoration, resident progress, and many customisation options are tied to shop profits, customer work, or requests.
What is Amber Isle?
Amber Isle is a shop-management and social simulation game set on an island inhabited by prehistoric Paleofolk.
Run the island’s only shop by gathering materials, crafting products, and selling items suited to customers with different preferences and behaviours. Shop profits can fund decorations, expanded floorspace, and layout changes. They can also support island restoration, including new areas, paths, foliage, and amenities. The game features 48 Paleofolk with individual personalities, preferences, dialogue, and quests. Building friendships and fulfilling requests can provide recipes and upgrades, while residents may establish stalls, cafes, gardens, and communal spaces. A character customiser offers five body presets along with changes to clothing, crests, and colours.

Amber Isle compared to similar games
Amber Isle combines shop management, crafting, customer negotiation, island restoration, and relationships with 48 prehistoric residents. Bear and Breakfast also presents a management adventure, but its stated setting and business are a woodland bed-and-breakfast rather than Amber Isle’s prehistoric island shop.
