Our take on SWORDCAR
The focus on car-based combat gives up the broader variety of a conventional action game: movement, attacks, and much of the encounter design are tied to vehicles. Graphic gore and supernatural weaponry also narrow its appeal for players seeking grounded racing or combat.
What is SWORDCAR?
SWORDCAR is an automotive combat action game set in SWORDCITY, where players oppose BUSY CORP and its CEO.
Combat combines vehicle physics with high-speed driving, drifting, swords, medieval weapons, and spells described as blood magic. Players can choose from a range of cars and use a large sword to attack the corporation’s forces and destroy its metropolis. Gore is a central presentation element, with dismemberment and blood accompanying attacks. Hostile machines powered by gore pursue the player throughout the game. The setting frames the action as an attempt to free humanity from BUSY CORP’s control.

- 05Pursuing Machines

SWORDCAR compared to similar games
GRIP: Combat Racing also combines high-speed vehicles with combat, but its description centers on wheeled and airborne vehicles, gravity-defying movement, and heavy weapons. SWORDCAR instead combines cars with swords, medieval weapons, spells, drifting, and a gore-focused corporate setting.
