We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

- Players seeking a level-based adventure with collectible star goals
- Vive owners who want to swing through colorful cartoon environments
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for combat-focused gameplay may find the swinging puzzles and bell objectives too central.
- Those who prefer grounded movement may find repeated swinging, flipping, and flying an awkward fit.
- Players without a Vive may find this Steam version unsuitable, as it is designed for that headset.
Our take on SwingStar VR
The swinging mechanic gives movement a central role, but that focus leaves less room for combat-driven play. Progress also depends on navigating levels and collecting stars, so players seeking a broad range of activity may find the structure narrow.
What is SwingStar VR?
SwingStar VR is a third-person physics puzzler set across dimensions where a disaster has changed how physics works.
Players use a magic helmet’s sticky hand to attach to objects and swing through levels, building speed and using momentum to flip, fly, and explore. The goal is to ring resonator bells, with a colossus robot standing between the player and the final bell. The game includes 30 levels, secret levels behind mysterious doors, power-ups such as Turbo Yo-yos and Air Cannons, and a three-star rank for mastering each level. Collecting 84 stars unlocks an inter-dimensional zone. Swinging uses either motion controllers or a headset with a gamepad or keyboard. This Steam version is designed for the Vive.
