Our take on Surbird
Players who want to perform every attack themselves may bounce off the crystal-defense system, where magical constructs launch projectiles automatically. Another stopping point arrives at level changes, when progression is limited to choosing between a character improvement and a new crystal.
What is Surbird?
Surbird combines strategy, action, and magic in a village-defense game.
Players control a wizard with the keyboard while devils attack and the villagers take shelter in their homes. The wizard creates magical Crystals that serve as automatic defenses and launch projectiles at invading enemies. Players can improve these crystals by selecting a crystal icon and choosing an upgrade. As the game progresses, the wizard can gain health and unlock spells for use against the devils. At each new level, players choose between improving the character and obtaining a new crystal. Successful defenses contribute to the history of the wizard’s deeds as the village survives attacks from the horde.
