Our take on Subaeria
The focus on enemy manipulation and room puzzles limits direct-combat variety. Progress also depends on run-based resources and changing layouts, which sacrifices a fixed, repeatable route through the underwater city.
What is Subaeria?
Subaeria combines action, environmental puzzles, and roguelike structure.
Players guide Styx and her hovering drone through an underwater city, manipulating robots and surroundings so enemies destroy one another. Each room presents a puzzle based on the skills available during that run, while strategic choices determine how Styx progresses and spends resources. The drone can receive skills that influence both enemies and Styx, and playthroughs offer skills, buffs, and skins to unlock. The labyrinth changes with each session, giving each attempt a different room layout. Styx’s journey follows her pursuit of revenge against the overlord responsible for her family’s murder, while exploration reveals mysteries beneath Subaeria.
