Our take on Stronghold’s Dungeon
Rather than presenting dungeon combat as a fixed sequence of encounters, the game generates a new board from the chosen deck each turn. Its roguelite structure also carries progression forward after losses, rather than treating a failed run as a complete reset.
What is Stronghold’s Dungeon?
Stronghold’s Dungeon combines deck building with dungeon-crawling and roguelite progression.
Each turn, a card deck selected during the run generates a board for combat. Enemies include slimes, sandworms, undead and rioting mobs, with different strengths and weaknesses that call for different tactics. Choose between warrior and assassin approaches, and use gold to purchase objects such as venom and halberds. Defeated enemies grant relics that modify card effects and provide passive effects. Runs include random elements, and progression continues after wins and losses, opening access to additional content. The game uses pixel-art visuals and introduces enemy sprites, relics and other content as a run progresses.
