Our take on STRIDE: Fates
The focus on rapid movement, combat, and story progression leaves less room for slower exploration or long-term character development. Its PCVR format also limits the hardware options compared with non-VR games.
What is STRIDE: Fates?
STRIDE: Fates is a story-focused parkour action game set in dystopian Airon City.
Players cross slums, skyscrapers, rooftops, and basements by climbing buildings, vaulting through windows, and sliding along cables. The story follows an officer raised in the city’s slums who joins the elite SkyChase police force. Its conflicts involve gang power shifts, family disputes, corporate secrets, forbidden technology, and characters connected to the protagonist’s fate. Gameplay combines rapid traversal with tactical close-quarters combat, weapons, gadgets, hacking, character interactions, and puzzles.
Snipers and drones monitor several locations. A revised STRIDE engine provides updated graphics, physics, interactivity, weapons, enemy variety, and enemy AI on PCVR. The game is presented as a separate entry point into the STRIDE universe and does not require knowledge or skills from the original.
