Our take on StrangePool
The defining structure is a binary progress rule: move onward when the pool looks normal, but turn back whenever an anomaly appears. The entire escape attempt is organized around repeatedly observing this familiar setting and making that single directional choice.
What is StrangePool?
StrangePool is an anomaly-search game set in a pool that appears familiar.
Movement through the area involves examining the surroundings and deciding whether anything has changed. When no anomaly is found, continue forward; when one is spotted, return instead. The game includes a light surprise element and a hint function that becomes available after the game is cleared. Hints can be used while searching the pool area. The estimated play time is 15 to 60 minutes. Controls use WASD for movement, E for interaction, Shift for running, and Space for hints after they are unlocked. An options menu allows image quality and other settings to be adjusted if the game runs slowly.
How StrangePool plays
- 01Anomaly Decisions
- Progress depends on identifying whether the pool contains an unusual change and choosing to advance or turn around.
- 02Post-Clear Hints
- A hint function becomes available after completing the game and can assist with searches in the pool area.
- 03Adjustable Display Settings
- Image quality and other options can be changed when the game runs slowly.
