Our take on Starvoly
Rather than isolating survival as a personal resource problem, the game places villagers among the player's responsibilities. It also combines shelter construction and environmental management with pets, story tasks, treasure maps, and combat against both animals and supernatural enemies.
What is Starvoly?
Starvoly is a single-player survival and crafting game set across harsh environments and biomes.
The player gathers materials by hunting, fishing, mining rocks, and cutting trees, then uses them to make weapons, armor, food, potions, and other equipment. Crafting stations and construction support houses, tents, and other survival structures. Farming includes planting, watering, and harvesting crops. Day-night changes and temperature conditions affect survival, including heat in deserts and cold in winter areas. Tasks, dialogue, and story objectives lead to rare items, while treasure maps provide another way to find them. Animals, zombies, mummies, monsters, and giant spiders create combat threats. Pets can fight enemies, hunt animals, and dig graves. Teleports connect the biomes.

Starvoly compared to similar games
Mr. Prepper is also a survival-crafting game, but centers on preparing an underground shelter while dealing with an authoritarian government. Starvoly instead uses open-ended environmental survival across biomes, with hunting, fishing, farming, temperature management, villagers, pets, and teleport travel. Bear and Breakfast focuses on running a woodland bed-and-breakfast, whereas Starvoly focuses on gathering, crafting, construction, and survival combat.
