Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking branching exploration or direct control throughout the main action may hit a wall with the rail-shooter structure.
- Players who want long-form progression may find the short, score-focused mini games repetitive after the initial unlocks.
- Players looking for a primarily narrative-driven adventure may not find the arcade challenge structure suitable.
- Players who want multiplayer competition may not find a stated multiplayer mode here.
Our take on StarsAway
The likely bounce point arrives when players expect the mini games to become substantial side campaigns. Most are built around brief repeat attempts, score chasing, or best times, so those seeking deeper progression may stop once the novelty of the unlocked modes fades.
What is StarsAway?
StarsAway is a rail shooter with three difficulty settings, level secrets, and tactics for clearing stages.
Progress through different difficulties to open additional mini games set across 3D environments. These include flying through rings, rolling around obstacles while collecting candy, navigating jet-pack courses under time limits, and racing three car tracks for faster times. Three flying activities take place on separate islands with 60 collectables each. A 2D auto-shooter mode includes eight power-ups. The mini games are generally about 10 minutes long and can be replayed for high scores and best times. The game also includes an atmospheric synthesiser soundtrack with 11 tracks and a barrel-roll manoeuvre.
