The hybrid structure asks players to divide attention between direct shooting, ship configuration, and colony defenses. That breadth comes at the cost of a narrower focus: neither the shooter nor the tower-building side stands alone as the entire experience.
What is Stardrift Nomads?
Stardrift Nomads combines dual-stick shooting with base defense in a retro-styled space setting.
Players can fight alone or cooperate with up to 7 others against pirates, asteroids, hazards, and bosses. Survival mode sends successive enemy waves while players guide a colony toward safety. Campaign mode adds missions and a story about nomads traveling through space. Three ship classes can be customized with 16 abilities and 12 equipment types each. Players can also construct and improve 4 distinct towers, choosing between a defensive base-focused approach or a ship-centered combat style. The game supports up to 8 players and includes both cooperative and solo play.
