- Players who enjoy scavenging and crafting among randomly generated wrecks
- Solo players who prefer managing oxygen, power, hunger, and sleep while repairing a ship
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led structure rather than resource management and repeated scavenging

- Players looking for a non-VR survival game
Our take on Star Shelter
Rather than placing survival mechanics on a conventional surface map, the game makes zero-gravity movement part of resource management: thrusters consume oxygen, while climbing through wrecks becomes the main way to explore and scavenge.
What is Star Shelter?
Star Shelter is a VR space survival game set among abandoned ships.
Players move through zero gravity, search wreckage for materials and plants, craft equipment, hack systems, and fight drones and turrets. Survival depends on keeping hunger, oxygen, power, and sleep managed. Oxygen also fuels thrusters, linking movement to resource use. Plants can produce oxygen and fruit, while solar panels and other constructions generate supplies. Players repair, arm, and upgrade a spaceship or station, with damage affecting the base. Environments and ship layouts are randomly generated. A voiced AI provides guidance about hazards, and holographic menus and object labels support navigation and hacking.
How Star Shelter plays
- 01Zero-Gravity Movement
- Movement through wrecks and stations uses climbing, with thrusters consuming the same oxygen needed for survival.
- 02Resource Survival Systems
- Hunger, oxygen, power, and sleep must remain managed during exploration.
- 03Crafting And Upgrades
- Collected materials can be used to construct, arm, repair, and improve the station or spaceship.
- 04Plant-Based Production
- Plants grown aboard the ship provide oxygen and fruit, while solar panels generate power.
- 05Randomized Shipwrecks
- The environments and abandoned spaceships are generated randomly.
- 06Repairable Base
- The base can be damaged and repaired, making maintenance part of survival.
- 07Hazard Guidance
- A voiced AI gives guidance and warnings during encounters with hazards.
- 08Defensive Combat
- Drones and turrets can be fought while scavenging shipwrecks.
Star Shelter compared to similar games
Mr. Prepper centers on preparing an underground shelter and resisting an authoritarian government in a nuclear-war setting, while Star Shelter focuses on VR exploration, zero-gravity movement, and repairing a spaceship. Force of Nature combines exploration with gathering, mining, weapons, and management across multiple zones, whereas Star Shelter adds oxygen, power, hunger, sleep, plant production, and randomized shipwrecks.
