Our take on Squids Odyssey
The main bounce point is the combat layer: players who do not want to weigh party roles, environmental positioning, and character strengths each turn will hit a wall when battles become the central activity.
What is Squids Odyssey?
Steev guides a group of squid heroes in a campaign against corrupted crabs and shrimps, whose world is being consumed by infectious ooze.
Assemble a squad of 15 characters divided among shooters, scouts, troopers, and healers. Encounters follow turn-based rules, with terrain and each hero’s abilities shaping tactical decisions. The main campaign offers over 90 missions and more than 15 hours of play. An expert setting extends the campaign to twice its standard length while increasing the challenge. Heroes can equip over 65 helmets for upgrades. Locations include Greek citadels, coral reefs, Old West-style settlements, and Japanese temples, presented with cartoons, music, and comic storytelling.
