Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking predictable circuits may hit a wall when destruction changes the route during a race.
- Racers who do not enjoy timing event triggers may struggle when course changes depend on precise moments.
- Players looking for a realistic driving simulator may not fit the action-racing format and television-set setting.
- Groups seeking local competition for more than two players will not match the stated split-screen mode.
Our take on Split/Second
The bounce point comes when racing lines are no longer enough. Players who miss the timing for destructive events may lose access to a route or face a changed course, while those who prefer fixed circuits may resist the shifting track structure.
What is Split/Second?
Set within a reality television competition, Split/Second combines racing with vehicle collisions and large-scale destruction.
Competitors race toward the finish while knocking opposing vehicles from the track. Players can also trigger devastating events across the city set, using timed destruction to alter the course or create different routes. Structures and towering television-set pieces can be demolished to change the race as it unfolds. The game includes a goal of becoming the season champion and supports two-player split-screen competition across several game modes. Because track sections can change during each lap, racers must time these events as well as manage their vehicles and opponents.
