CasualIs Splice worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle players who enjoy planning sequences of moves
- Fans of abstract geometry who want experimental visual presentation
- Completionists pursuing solutions with fewer than the allowed splices
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking action, combat, or character-driven progression may bounce off the move-planning format.
- Players who prefer quick, repeatable rounds may lose interest when solving later strands requires extended experimentation.
- Players looking for multiplayer competition may not find a suitable mode here.
Our take on Splice
The bounce point arrives when experimentation must become forward planning. Players can use all allotted splices to progress, but those pursuing angelic solutions must predict cell reactions and reduce the move count, especially in the later epilogue sequences.
What is Splice?
Splice is a puzzle game built around rearranging cells into target structures.
Each level, called a strand, presents a structure that must be solved through a limited sequence of splices. Players experiment with how cells react, then plan the order needed to reach the required arrangement. The game includes 75+ puzzles, with introductory main sequences and later epilogue sequences focused on mastery. Every puzzle can be completed using its allotted moves, while optional angelic solutions require fewer splices. Its geometry explores binary-tree structures in radial space, accompanied by piano music and visual effects set in a microbial environment.
