StrategyIs Space Run worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Tower Defense fans who want to build and defend a moving ship rather than a stationary base
- Strategy players who enjoy changing equipment in response to hazards during missions
- Players who like replaying missions to improve delivery times and scores
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow, turn-based pace may find the real-time missions demanding
- Players seeking a fixed ship layout may hit a wall when missions require building and adapting equipment in flight
- Players looking for a broad role-playing campaign may find the focus on delivery missions and ship modules narrow
Our take on Space Run
The pressure point is equipment management during flight: players who want to settle on a ship layout before a mission may bounce when hazards require rebuilding around the moving delivery. Later routes also raise the difficulty, so the same setup may not carry through the campaign.
What is Space Run?
Space Run is a real-time strategy game about constructing and defending a spaceship while carrying cargo through hazardous space.
Missions bring asteroid fields, pirate ships and competing transporters that threaten the delivery. Build modules as the ship travels, choosing from equipment such as laser turrets, missile launchers, shields, thrusters and generators to respond to changing threats. Deliveries grow more difficult as reputation rises. Reaching a destination faster raises reputation, while successful shipments earn credits for unlocking and upgrading modules. Previously completed missions can be replayed with newly unlocked equipment, with faster completion and higher scores as goals. The game combines ship construction, cargo protection and delivery races in a Tower Defense-style format.
How Space Run plays
- 01In-flight construction
- Modules can be added while the ship is moving, so equipment choices respond to threats along the route.
- 02Module upgrades
- Credits earned from deliveries unlock equipment such as turrets, shields and thrusters, and can be used to upgrade modules.
- 03Mission replay
- Previously completed missions can be attempted again with unlocked modules to pursue faster times and higher scores.
