The game includes military and civilian campaigns, with more than 100 structures available for bases focused on defense or interplanetary tourism. Choose from 20 distinct characters and train them in skills such as cybernetics, mining and lasers. Colonists have individual needs, so the base requires amenities alongside defensive systems. Mine minerals, expand the colony and improve its standing with Blackwater Industries. The Steam Edition adds the Obar mini-campaign, Steam Workshop support, achievements, trading cards, Steam Cloud saves and a rebalanced Easy Mode. High-resolution graphics allow the entire base to appear on one screen.
