Adam, a quantum AI seeking global domination, commands the living machines called Deus Ex Machina, which attack cities and execute those who oppose them. They wield Scapegoats, weapons fashioned from the augmented remains of fallen allies. Each configuration changes factors such as striking force, distance, and fighting approach. The narrative follows humanity’s conflict through ideas of mortality, self-sacrifice, and endurance.
