Our take on SOMNI
The two entity types demand different survival tactics: hide from Ethereals in residences, but fight Cryptids in open environments.
What is SOMNI?
SOMNI is a first-person paranormal shooter with two kinds of entities: Ethereals and Cryptids.
Ethereals search through residences, break doors and hiding places, and can be avoided by hiding. Cryptids roam open environments and require players to fight back; completing a Cryptid ritual summons the only firearm that can permanently kill one. Each Cryptid has a distinct ability and kill reward. Earnings from banishing entities can be spent on 11 perks, but dying destroys the selected perk.
In addition to Cryptids, insect-like Amalgamations appear mostly in Cryptid environments and can kill as quickly as a Cryptid. The game supports online co-op for up to 6 players, a server browser, and proximity chat. Play is available in VR, on desktop with mouse and keyboard, or with a gamepad.
