Our take on Sokolor
Color is the defining constraint: the character must adopt the right state not only to move matching cubes, but also to cross corresponding floor tiles.
What is Sokolor?
Sokolor is a Sokoban-style puzzle game built around color matching.
The character must change color before pushing a cube, and both the character and cube must match the destination tile. Colored floor areas also require the corresponding character color for traversal. Paint can be removed when needed, while color mixing introduces additional possibilities. The game contains 100 handcrafted levels, 10 colors to discover, an undo function, character customization, a minimalist interface, cute characters, and an original soundtrack. Its puzzles focus on planning movement, managing color states, and placing cubes in their correct positions.
How Sokolor plays
- 01Color-based pushing
- A cube can be moved only when the character has the same color.
- 02Colored traversal
- Matching the character to a floor tile is required to cross it.
- 03Color mixing
- Combining colors adds another state to manage during puzzle solving.
- 04Paint removal
- The character can clear its current paint when a different color is needed.
- 05Handcrafted levels
- The game includes 100 manually made puzzles.
- 06Character customization
- The player character can be customized.
- 07Undo function
- Previous moves can be reversed while working through a puzzle.
