Our take on Slay the Minotaur
Rather than treating the Minotaur as a final encounter reached once at the end of a fixed adventure, the game makes repeated hunts, rank advancement, timed records, and challenge completion central to its structure. Greek myth provides the setting for a run-based action loop.
What is Slay the Minotaur?
Slay the Minotaur is a roguelike dungeon crawler set in an ancient Greek labyrinth.
Players control different heroes who fight zombies, cyclopes, and other mythological creatures while searching for weapons and helmets with distinct attributes and special moves. Battles provide pearls that can be exchanged with Aphrodite for improvements to agility, strength, and abilities, plus access to chests containing equipment. Each attempt builds toward a confrontation with the Minotaur, whose defeat earns ranks. Challenges unlock cosmetic items, while timed runs add a focus on speed and efficiency. The game also includes two extra modes featuring Aphrodite and Heracles. Repeated attempts, equipment combinations, upgrades, and record times form the main progression structure.
