Our take on Skulltide
Rather than treating death as a final failure, the game makes reanimation part of its structure: fallen characters return to the crypt with additional grimoires, while run-specific abilities can be lost. Its central build system is also tied to detachable bones and replaceable body parts.
What is Skulltide?
Skulltide is a co-op action RPG roguelite about reanimated skeletons hunting the necromancers responsible for their return.
Local and online multiplayer can be used separately or together. Players assemble builds from abilities attached to bones, collect spells from raised enemies and weapons from fallen foes, and replace missing limbs, skulls, or ribs. Skeletons can throw their bones, raise the dead, grapple with lethal magic, and reanimate fallen friends. Death sends characters back to the crypt with additional black magic grimoires, while abilities can be lost when a character falls. Runs take place across dying and dead lands as players try to prolong the Skulltide and evade the Grim Reaper.
How Skulltide plays
- 01Local online co-op
- Multiplayer supports local play, online play, or both modes in the same session.
- 02Bone-based builds

- 03Reanimated equipment
- Players collect spells from raised enemies, blades from defeated foes, and replacement body parts.
- 04Persistent death progression
- Returning to the crypt after a death grants additional black magic grimoires.
- 05Loss on defeat
- Abilities gained during a run can disappear when the character falls.
