Our take on Skarab
The bounce point arrives when movement becomes part of the fight. Players who are comfortable with weapon-based combat but dislike rooftop traversal, tunnels, or trap navigation may stop at the platforming and tomb sections rather than the enemy encounters.
What is Skarab?
Skarab is an action adventure set along the Nile, where combat, exploration, and platforming form the core structure.
The warrior uses ancient weapons such as a khopesh alongside supernatural attacks including locust swarms. Levels move through villages, rooftops, pyramids, temples, and tombs, with tunnels and traps shaping the route through these locations. The campaign centers on freeing Egypt, rescuing its royal highness, and sending Anubis into the afterlife. Enemies include beasts, barbarians, and gods associated with both sides of the Duat. Each level also contains a time-traveling mascot called DOSMan, who hides items for collection. The game combines fast combat with environments inspired by Powerslave, Tomb Raider, and Quake.
