Play it if you…
Good fit- RPG players who want a quest-led fantasy setting with a restoration storyline
- Players who enjoy collecting items and crafting from a large recipe list
- Players who prefer choosing equipment without being restricted to a character class
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a tightly focused, short campaign may find the stated 10+ to 30+ hour playthroughs lengthy.
- Players who prefer combat without equipment preparation may not enjoy the high-difficulty requirement to use sharpening, inlay, and engraving.
- Players seeking a game centered on a single weapon style may not want to choose among three weapon categories and four armor types.
Our take on Silver Cats
The broad equipment and crafting options come with a preparation trade-off at higher difficulty: sharpening, inlay, and engraving become necessary. That shifts some of the challenge toward maintaining gear rather than relying only on weapon choice.
What is Silver Cats?
A rift opened in the afterlife during a struggle among demons, leaving the land of Raine in ruins.
Its surviving inhabitants can no longer use ordinary magic and instead wield demonic magic. The Silver Cats guild seeks to restore the region, and the guild master's son is among those chosen to bring peace. The game includes 150 quests, more than 250 crafting recipes, over 1,000 items, and 27 locations. Characters can use one-handed swords, two-handed swords, or magic artifacts, with four armor types and no class restriction. Six difficulty levels alter gameplay. On higher difficulty, sharpening, inlay, and engraving are needed. The vendor gives playthrough estimates of 10+ hours on Researcher and 30+ hours on God difficulty.
