Our take on Silver Box Classics
The collection presents four Dragonlance adaptations together, but their play styles differ substantially: platform action, real-time combat, warfare, and a multi-part refugee escort. That variety defines the package, while consistency between the entries is not its focus.
What is Silver Box Classics?
Silver Box Classics gathers four Dragonlance games based on the opening modules of the role-playing series: Heroes of the Lance, Dragons of Flame, War of the Lance, and Shadow Sorcerer.
In Heroes of the Lance, the Companions seek the Disks of Mishakal. Dragons of Flame sends them against the Dragonarmies at Pax Tharkas to free captives. War of the Lance is a computer wargame about Whitestone’s struggle with the Dragonarmies, using diplomacy, treaties, alliances, and armies from several fantasy peoples. Shadow Sorcerer has four adventurers escorting 800 freed slaves through dangerous wilderness, with strategic travel, tactical exploration, and political negotiations taking place in real time. The collection spans platform play, live combat, role-playing, and strategic warfare.
