Our take on Silent Sector
The pitch names several possible careers, but gives little detail about how trading, mining, mercenary work, and adventuring differ in play. Its clearest specifics are the opening debt-and-revenge setup, faction quests, and ship combat.
What is Silent Sector?
Silent Sector is an open-world science-fiction RPG set in a remote part of the galaxy, where factions compete over Eldorite, a valuable mineral.
After losing a ship and cargo, the player must address a debt and seek revenge against Admiral Zed. The game combines space travel, an adventure story, and dogfights. Players can explore a large, semi-randomly generated world in dozens of ships, using guns, missiles, lasers, and upgrades. Seven factions offer quests involving conflict with rivals, and the story includes choices with consequences. Random quests and events add further activities, while the setting draws on Wild West themes and includes crude humor. The game also presents paths such as mining, trading, mercenary work, and adventuring.
