Our take on SIIMI
The game's focus on a single puzzle idea and a personal journey gives it a clear thematic direction, but leaves less room for combat, character builds, or broader adventure systems. Its warm desert presentation and supporting characters serve the story rather than expanding the gameplay scope.
What is SIIMI?
SIIMI is a puzzle adventure about a member of the Mi tribe who leaves her desert village after rejecting its appearance standards.
Mi people imitate a sacred tree, but Siimi struggles to meet the expected ideal and chooses to stop copying it. The central objective is to remove leaves from the protagonist while following her journey toward self-understanding. The game includes characters with individual stories, a desert setting with a warm visual style, and a lyrical soundtrack. Its story focuses on self-acceptance in a society that judges people by their looks. The journey asks what Siimi will find at the far end of the desert.
How SIIMI plays
- 01Leaf removal puzzles
- Progress centers on taking leaves away from the main character.
- 02Desert setting
- The journey takes place across a broad desert presented with warm artwork.
- 03Character stories
- Several characters contribute their own narratives during Siimi's journey.
- 04Lyrical soundtrack
- The game accompanies its story with a lyrical musical score.
SIIMI compared to similar games
SIIMI combines a personal desert adventure with puzzles centered on removing leaves, while Fantasy Girl is a jigsaw title built around completing images of different characters. Bear and Breakfast also uses an adventure format, but its core activity is managing a bed-and-breakfast rather than solving symbolic puzzles. The other listed alternatives do not present the same puzzle-adventure scope.
