SHUT IN is a dark comedy and psychological horror adventure set in a hostile version of the protagonist’s house.
The central task is to get out of bed, leave the house, and reach fresh air, but the environment contains strange puzzles, dangerous obstacles, and threats that can cause repeated deaths. An unreliable narrator comments on progress with judgment, sarcasm, and melancholy, while an insulting hint system offers limited guidance. Players can experiment with multiple items and their unusual interactions, although many produce no practical result. The game includes the SHUTDOWN and SHUT UP content updates, more than a dozen distinct death scenarios, an atmospheric horror soundtrack, and an option to remain in bed indefinitely.
