Our take on Shichiya Shrine
Its short runtime keeps the story focused, but leaves less room for extended exploration, character development, or a large combat progression system. The two-ending structure adds a reason to revisit the game without changing its compact overall scope.
What is Shichiya Shrine?
Shichiya Shrine is a horror action game set on Kannanagi Island, where Yoru searches for a missing girl in the Whispering Forest and the ancient Seven Night Shrine.
Exploration uses a first-person view, while combat switches to third person. The cursed sword Kannanagi gathers blood from defeated creatures, which can be used to make talismans for battles. The story connects with the wider SukuuMono series and reveals lore about the shrine, its creatures, and Yoru’s past. Difficulty can be changed during play. The game offers two endings, gamepad support, and approximately 2 to 2. 5 hours of playtime. Supporter content can be enabled or disabled from the title screen.
