Our take on ShemHaMephorash
The defining detail is its division between a turn-based strategy phase for territory and logistics and a pause-enabled tactical phase for battlefield commands.
What is ShemHaMephorash?
ShemHaMephorash is a historical low-fantasy strategy game set during the 1878 Second Anglo-Afghan War and the Anglo-Russian Great Game.
Play alternates between a strategic planning stage and real-time combat. During planning, recruit troops, select targets, position defenders, upgrade territories, and handle supplies, finances, and domestic matters. Battles draw on infantry, artillery, cavalry, and rabbis. The campaign centers on expanding holdings, using their revenue to sustain military operations, keeping the army intact through each story, and completing that story’s victory requirements. These requirements may be disregarded on the easiest difficulty. Units remain controllable during tactical combat when the game is paused. English translation is complete for six of the nine episodes; work on the remaining three is being considered.
