Our take on Shamania
The pitch gives substantial attention to crafting, base expansion, professions, and cooperative survival, but provides little detail about narrative structure, enemy variety, or the depth of character progression. The core loop is clearer than the broader adventure scope.
What is Shamania?
Shamania is an open-world survival game built around gathering, construction, crafting, combat, and exploration.
Players collect resources to create and improve a home base that serves as a central hub, with customization and added functions tied to progression. Character development includes Mining, Herbalism, and Fishing, with profession levels opening access to recipes and tools. The world contains enemies and other challenges that provide rewards for strengthening the character. Crafting expands over time, covering gear, tools, and other items for later dangers. Cooperative play lets friends explore, build, and fight together in the same shared world.
How Shamania plays
- 01Expandable home base
- Resources can be used to add functions to the base and tailor its layout as progress is made.
- 02Profession progression
- Mining, Herbalism, and Fishing can be developed to open additional recipes and equipment.
- 03Progressive crafting
- The available recipes grow during play and include equipment, tools, and other survival items.
- 04Cooperative exploration
- Friends can travel through the shared world, construct together, and face enemies as a group.
Shamania compared to similar games
Shamania combines open-world survival, base development, professions, crafting, and cooperative play. Mr. Prepper also centers on survival crafting, but focuses on building an underground shelter and preparing for a nuclear-war scenario. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened pairs cooperative action RPG play with tower defense, loot, pets, and character customization rather than Shamania's open-world survival structure.
