Our take on Server is Down
Rather than placing horror in a conventional haunted house or isolated wilderness, the game uses server maintenance, command learning, chat conversations, and an old CRT computer as its central structure. Technical troubleshooting becomes the route through which reality begins to break down.
What is Server is Down?
Play as a system administrator spending nights repairing an old server on an aging computer.
As critical errors appear, the malfunction begins affecting reality. Conversations with friends become part of the investigation, with the group trying to understand the problem while facing the image of a sinking ship. Gameplay includes learning commands and methods for repairing the damaged server, consulting a manual of more than 300 pages, and using an old PC with a CRT display to access the system. The game presents psychological horror, disturbing imagery, and a deer. A warning notes that some imagery may affect players with photosensitive epilepsy or similar conditions. It is not intended for children or players who are easily disturbed.
